Highgate Painters & Decorators
The detail comes before the finish.
The aim is a scope that both sides can read in the same way. Start with the existing property, then connect the intended finish to the decisions and arrangements it requires.
Discuss your project
01 / Describe the property as it stands
Send the full address, a list of rooms or external elements and photographs by email or WhatsApp. Note defects, retained decoration and anything that needs to remain in use. Include shared entrances, steps and building instructions. A preferred start date is useful context, with availability to be discussed once the work is understood.
02 / Set the preparation and finish
Separate painting preparation from repair or investigation work. Identify any permission or specialist advice needed before the specification can be settled. Review physical samples and record the product, colour and sheen for each surface. State the protection, supply responsibilities and exclusions alongside the proposed finish.
03 / Agree the working arrangements
Review the written quotation and terms, including payment, access, the sequence of rooms and how changes will be authorised. Clarify furniture movement and material storage. If further work becomes apparent, it needs a recorded decision about scope and price rather than an assumption that it was included.
04 / Review and retain the details
Use the agreed surface schedule to review the work and record any outstanding items. Keep the final colour and product references with the manufacturer’s care instructions. For a later question, contact the business with a photograph and a description of the affected element so the discussion starts from the same record.
