Highgate Painters & Decorators
Interior painting
Set the room scheme around how you use the home. Walls, ceilings and adjoining woodwork should be considered together, with the preparation and working sequence made clear from the start.
Discuss your project
A complete room starts with a surface list
Describe the walls and ceiling separately from doors, skirtings, windows and fitted furniture. Identify any wallcovering to remove and any decoration to retain. For halls and stairs, include the connecting landings so the scope does not stop at an arbitrary room boundary. Photographs help distinguish a straightforward repaint from surfaces that need closer assessment.
Resolve the preparation before the colour
Record damaged or uneven areas and explain any previous repair work. Agree what cleaning, filling, lining or other preparation is included, together with any exclusions. Where a defect needs investigation, settle that next step before choosing a finish to cover it. The quotation should make clear how additional preparation will be assessed and authorised.
Choose the finish in the room
Compare samples beside the floors, stone and textiles that will stay. View them in the usual daylight and evening lighting, including the transition to adjoining rooms. Record the exact product and sheen for each surface. A wall colour name alone does not define the ceiling, doors or finish at the junction between them.
Plan for an occupied home
Tell us which rooms must remain usable, how furniture can move and whether access passes through shared spaces. Protection and the order of work belong in the agreed scope. Send the address, room list and current condition with your enquiry so we can discuss the work and availability without assuming a standard room size or duration.
